UP CM Yogi Adityanath as saying that the Ardh Kumbh Mela held in 2019 generated close to Rs 1.2 lakh crore revenue. Around 24 crore people had taken part in the event. With the expected number of pilgrims almost doubling this time around, it can be said that Adityanath's estimates are not too speculative. On the other hand, news agency IANS has taken industry estimates into consideration to say that if among the 40 crore expected attendees, each individual spends at least Rs 5,000, then the revenue from the same can reach Rs 2 lakh crore. It believes that if per-person expenditure rises to Rs 10,000, then the UP government would be pocketing Rs 4 lakh crore as revenue and this could boost the state's nominal as well as real GDP by 1 per cent.

Uttar Pradesh has approved solar power projects worth around Rs 10,000 crore to achieve the state’s renewable energy capacity of 22,000 megawatt (Mw). Under the roadmap, three solar power projects of 2,000 Mw would be set up in Jhansi, Lalitpur, and Chitrakoot districts, which fall under the Bundelkhand region. While NTPC Green Energy will develop 800 Mw and 600 Mw solar power plants in Chitrakoot and Lalitpur, respectively, Hinduja Group has been chosen to develop a 600 Mw unit in Jhansi, according to a government official. The UP New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has picked the two companies to develop three solar power projects, which are expected to become operational by December 2025.The UPNEDA has floated bidding documents for another 1,200 Mw solar power plant at Jalaun, Bundelkhand. Similar projects have been proposed in other places, including Mirzapur, Kanpur, and  Prayagraj.

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Wednesday approved the issuance of municipal bonds for the municipal corporation of Prayagraj, Varanasi and Agra along with the provision of funds for infrastructure development. The cabinet meeting chaired by CM Yogi Adityanath held in Maha Kumbh Mela area in Prayagraj. The funds will be raised from the market with a grant of Rs 13 Crore provided for every Rs 100 crore raised. The Government of India will deposit the incentive amount into an escrow account. Additionally, municipal bonds of up to Rs 50 crore each will be issued for Agra, Prayagraj and Varanasi. This initiative iaims to bolster the infrastructure and development projects.
