Delhi NCR-based Clix Capital has secured a debt funding of $6 Mn from DCB bank. As per the regulatory filing of the non-banking financial company, it is allotting around 5,000 non-convertible debentures (NCDs) with a face value of INR 100,000 each to the bank with a tenure of 36 months.  Clix Capital will utilise the fresh debt for its working capital needs to grow its business.In FY24, Clix Capital has secured a total investment of INR 4,458 Cr, of this, it secured around $20 Mn from the Global Climate Partnership Fund for onward lending for sustainable projects. Founded in 2016 by Pramod Bhasin and Anil Chawla, Clix Capital offers business loans, loans against property, school financing, among others. For business financing, the NBFC offers SME/MSE loans, working capital loans, unsecured business loans, among others.

PRIVATE SECTOR BANK Karnataka Bank (KBL) and non-banking financial company (NBFC) Clix Capital have entered into a strategic digital co-lending partnership through the Yubi co-lending platform. This partnership is focused on providing loans to the Indian MSME sector, which is one of the biggest contributors to India's GDP and employment growth. The agreement aligns with the Reserve Bank of India's guidelines on co-lending by banks and NBFCs to priority sectors. 

Sekhar Rao, executive director of Karnataka Bank, added that the tie-up should leverage technology and digital solutions to extend a wide range of financial products to the MSME sector seamlessly. The partnership combines the bank's low cost of funds, end-to-end digital capabilities, and expertise to offer credit facilities to this segment, along with Clix Capital's lending tech platform and robust due diligence. 

Celebrating its centenary year, the Mangaluru-headquartered Karnataka Bank offers a range of fiscal products for retail, MSME, SME, agri, and corporate segments, including trade finance, foreign exchange, remittances, and NRI services.

The company’s asset quality improved with a consolidated GNPA ratio of 1.9% as on March 31, 2024. This positive trend is attributed to better collection efficiency from its retail and MSME loan portfolio. However, GNPA slightly moderated to 2.05% as on June 30, 2024, attributed by slippages from K12.

Formerly known as GE Money Financial Services Limited, CLIX was originally set up by the GE group, and, in March 2016, the GE group entered a management buy-in arrangement with Pramod Bhasin and Anil Chawla, former top executives at GE India, backed by funding from PE firm AION Capital Partners (85% stake). Plutus Wealth Management, Mauritius, collectively continues to hold 100% in CLIX Capital (consolidated) with Apollo being the company’s majority shareholder with 85% shares.

CLIX’s standalone capital adequacy ratio (CAR) remains comfortable at 28.22% and 27.74% as on March 31, 2024, and June 30, 2024, respectively, which is well-above regulatory requirements. This is expected to improve further owing to capital infusions in July 20

CLIX has a well-diversified resource profile with a good mix of banks (69%), NBFC (13%), non-convertible debentures (11%) and domestic financial institutions (8%) as on June 30, 2024. The share of term loans from banks has also increased with 56% of borrowings being through term loans as on June 30, 2024, compared to 49% as on March 31, 2024.
